Serving Meals at the Holy Cross Retreat House

For most retreats, our goal is to have a minimum of six volunteers to help serve meals, clean up, and reset the tables for the next meal. We need two additional volunteers willing to help run the dish room.
We ask volunteers to arrive no later than twenty minutes before the start of a meal. If you arrive early, in most cases you are welcome to enjoy our new sitting room just off the dining room. Our dishwashers are welcome to serve meals or arrive a half hour after each meal is served and help solely in the dish room.
Fifteen minutes before meal service we pray and receive special instructions for the meal service such as for guests with dietary concerns. It is helpful to have all volunteers present.
We have a variety of retreats and events; mealtimes will be specified in the volunteer request emails.
Generally, meals are served at 8:00, 12:00, and 6:00.
Cursillo mealtimes are Friday: 8:00.12:30, 6:30. Saturday: 7:45, 1:00,6:30. Sunday: 8:00, 1:00, 6:05.
